Create clarity

We attach importance to a visual appearance that is reduced with white space when structuring pages in our print medium. This means that information hierarchies can be shown in a way that is easier to understand and product images and (typo)graphical elements can be presented more effectively.

Useful tips

Tip 1

Use of the colour violet

The KESSEL violet is used in print media for the general structuring of sections and for highlighting special content. The violet can be used extensively here. Overall, it cannot be used expansively otherwise the key effect of the coloured areas gets lost.
1. Structured use of violet pages
2. Expansive use of violet pages and teasers
3. Example: colouring of parts
4. Example: teaser
5. Example: sidebar

Tip 2

Use of images

Photos are generally used extensively in the layout to enable the images to have an effect. An exciting page composition is taken into account here, contrasting the different image sizes with each other and also permitting white space. Small images and the accumulation of motifs result in the individual motifs being less significant and are avoided.

1.-3. Exciting use of images
4. Too many and too small images
5. Page too full and not exciting enough

Tip 3

Pagination and headings

1. The page number is always placed in the top, outer page margin.
2. The top page margin acts as an optional navigation bar. Information to help the reader find their way is collected here depending on the scope of the publication. This is not required on smaller brochures.
3. When individual pages are often used on their own for a publication (e.g. product overview), the typographical addition of KESSEL AG is placed in the top inner page margin. The KESSEL logo is not used.

These elements are included as standard in the following template files, but the size and scope can be adapted depending on the purpose of the publication.

Template files

The following template files can be used as a basis for new brochures, but must not be considered as a binding obligation. The aim of every KESSEL publication is to consistently represent the KESSEL brand on the one hand and to communicate the specific content in an informative and eye-catching manner on the other hand. The latter requires individual freedom. For example, different margins, column layouts or font sizes are allowed.

However, the basics of the KESSEL brand must always be fulfilled.

Brochures on products or product groups, which are often positioned next to each other on a display or grouped together to give to the customer, remain close to the standard. Brochures on individual topics or for special occasions can deviate more significantly from the standard.
